Site Visit & Consultation
We visit your home to see the space, take measurements, discuss your vision, and identify opportunities you might not have considered. Every wall, nook, and ceiling height is documented.
Custom Design
Our design team creates detailed plans showing exactly how the millwork will look in your space. We design around existing architectural features, outlets, vents, and trim profiles.
Finish & Hardware Selection
Choose paint colours, stain finishes, hardware, and accent details. We can match existing woodwork in your home or introduce a complementary new look.
Workshop Fabrication
Every piece is built in our Barrie workshop. Large projects are built in sections engineered for precise field assembly. All finishes are applied in our spray booth.
Delivery & Installation
Our installation team brings everything to your home, assembles the built-in on site, and ensures perfect alignment with walls, ceilings, and floors - even in older homes where nothing is perfectly level.
Final Details
We caulk, touch up, and fine-tune everything. Doors are adjusted, drawers are aligned, and the finished product looks like it grew out of your house.
Types of Millwork We Build
Entertainment and media walls are one of our most popular millwork projects. We design floor-to-ceiling units with concealed wiring channels, adjustable shelving, integrated LED lighting, and custom-sized openings for your TV, speakers, and media components. Many clients combine their entertainment wall with a fireplace surround for a stunning focal point.
Mudroom and entryway storage keeps your family organized. Custom cubbies sized for each family member, bench seating with hidden shoe storage, coat hooks at the right height for kids and adults, and a drop zone for keys, mail, and backpacks. Every mudroom we build is designed around how your family actually enters and exits the house.
Home office built-ins have become increasingly important. We design desks with integrated cable management, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, filing cabinet bases, printer enclosures, and adjustable shelving. Whether it's a dedicated office or a corner of your bedroom, custom millwork makes working from home functional and beautiful.
Laundry rooms benefit enormously from custom cabinetry. We build countertops over washers and dryers for folding space, upper cabinets for detergent and supplies, pull-out hamper systems, drying racks, and ironing board enclosures. A well-designed laundry room turns a chore space into a room you actually enjoy using.
Materials & Craftsmanship
Our millwork uses the same premium materials as our kitchen cabinetry: solid Canadian hardwoods, furniture-grade plywood, and high-density MDF. Face frames are solid wood. Shelves are reinforced to prevent sagging. Drawer boxes use dovetail joinery for strength and longevity.
All painted finishes are sprayed in our controlled booth using catalyzed lacquer - the same finish used on high-end furniture and kitchen cabinetry. This creates a smooth, durable surface that resists chips, scratches, and yellowing. For stained finishes, we apply multiple coats of sealer and topcoat to bring out the natural grain while protecting the wood.
We take special care to match existing trim, moulding, and architectural details in your home. If your house has a specific crown moulding profile, we can replicate it on your built-in so everything looks cohesive. This attention to detail is what separates custom millwork from off-the-shelf furniture.
